Fast shots, hard strip-sets, and big flies are the problem this line is meant to solve. RIO’s Elite GT is a warmwater floating line with a short, heavy head that helps load powerful saltwater rods quickly. A short, aggressive front taper is there to turn over large flies without needing a long carry.
RIO uses a low-stretch DirectCore to keep the connection solid when you hit a fast eat. The line is finished with RIO’s SlickCast coating for a slick, durable surface. At the business end, RIO adds a Kevlar Loop intended to handle abrasion around coral and boat-side hardware. The jump from WF10F to WF12F is about carrying more mass for heavier rods and bigger presentations.
